Welcome to our site! My name is Brian Johnson. My wife Leslie and I purchased Rich Toreson Insurance Agency Inc. in 2005 from her grandfather Rich Toreson. So a little about me to start. I was born and raised in Yreka, CA. I spent my time running around town or up in the nearby mountains. I played just about any sport that was offered but really liked baseball the most. I graduated from high school in 1992. I moved down to Sacramento soon after for college to continue my academic and baseball careers. I then moved back to Yreka and started my first career working for a local beverage distributor. I started in the warehouse loading trucks and then moved into a delivery driver position. After a couple years I was able to promote to a sales position handling the key account chain stores around Siskiyou County. During this time I met my wife Leslie and we married in 1999. We started raising our two sons in Mt Shasta, CA. I started spending time with Leslie’s grandfather Rich as well. I was intrigued with his business and how it worked. In 2004 I decided it was time for a career change. I traveled to Modesto and took the necessary training and licensing to get both my Property and Casualty and Life and Health licenses. I came back and went to work with Rich. He was able to teach me valuable lessons I still utilize today. First and foremost, customer service.
My wife and I like doing anything outdoors. Spending time at the lake with friends, letting the dogs swim in the river and taking buggy rides in the surrounding mountains. As the boys grew up I was coaching just about every sport you can think of. Chasing them around to all parts of the country for the next game or tournament. I still am involved in our local American Legion program to make sure the kids have somewhere to play summer baseball. I also enjoy fishing, hunting, golf and whatever else gets me outside.
We have now had the business for 15 years! The boys are both grown and making their own way in the world. The agency has made a couple moves and we are now settled in the office building we had constructed here in Mt Shasta in 2017. The agency now has three full time insurance producers to take care of any insurance needs. The agency still adheres to the same principles I was taught long ago, great customer service, offering a quality product at a fair price and an honest business done with sincerity.
